Joey Votto pays tribute to Michael K. Williams, Omar from ‘The Wire’

Cincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto has made it known that he's a big fan of Jamie Tartt from the show "Ted Lasso." But he declared his love for Omar from "The Wire" - played by the late Michael K. Williams, who died earlier this month - by changing his walk-up music for Monday night's 9-5 win against the Pittsburgh Pirates to the "Omar whistle."

Bally Sports Ohio's Jim Day asked Votto on the Great American Ball Park field after the game about Votto's tribute to the character Omar, and the actor Williams:

"Rest in peace, Michael K. Williams," Votto told Day. "Omar - my favorite, my favorite television character. To his family, to his friends, condolences. But that was just an ode to him. I'll go back to my regular walk-up music. But he was my favorite. And he will be missed."
