The Cardinals lead the Reds and Padres in the wild-card standings

The St. Louis Cardinals moved 1/2 game ahead of the Cincinnati Reds and 1 game ahead of the San Diego Padres in the National League wild-card standings with a come-from-behind, 7-6 win in 11 innings against the Mets in New York, after the Reds lost 6-5 to the Pirates in Pittsburgh earlier in the evening and the Padres lost 6-1 to the Giants in San Francisco in a late game.

The Reds have 17 games remaining in the 2021 Major League Baseball season. The Cardinals and Padres each have 18 games left.

The Cardinals are 75-69. The Reds are 75-70. The Padres are 74-70.

The Reds have two more games against the Pirates in Pittsburgh on Wednesday and Thursday. The Padres play two more games against the Giants, also Wednesday and Thursday. The Cardinals play two more against the Mets.

The Philadelphia Phillies trail St. Louis by 3 games. The Mets trail the Cardinals by 4 games.
