Evan McPherson’s 53-yard field goal extends Bengals’ 4th-quarter lead

For a rookie kicker, you can't beat booting a 53-yard field goal in the fourth quarter of your first National Football League game to give your team a 10-point lead in its season-opener.

Evan McPherson, drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the fifth round earlier this year, did just that, extending the Bengals' lead over the Vikings to 24-14 with 14:18 left - and later kicking the game-winning f in a memorable season-opener Cincinnati won 27-24 in overtime.
