The Reds stay tied with the Padres in the wild-card standings

The Cincinnati Reds remain in a tie with the San Diego Padres in the National League wild-card standings despite losing Sunday to the Cardinals in St. Louis, as the Padres fell 8-0 to the Los Angeles Dodgers later in the day.

The Cardinals, however, are within 1 game of both teams after shutting out Cincinnati in the series finale.

The Reds have 18 games remaining in the 2021 Major League Baseball season. The Padres and Cardinals each have 20 games left.

The Reds are 75-69. The Padres are 74-68. The Cardinals are 73-69. 

The Reds are off Monday before starting a three-game series against the Pirates in Pittsburgh on Tuesday. The Padres start a four-game series against the Giants in San Francisco on Monday. The Cardinals start a three-game series against the Mets in New York on Monday.

The Philadelphia Phillies trail the Reds and Padres by 2 1/2 games. The Mets trail both teams by 3 games after their 7-6 win Sunday night against the Yankees.
