The Los Angeles Chargers announced Sunday night that Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator Brandon Staley will be their new head coach.
One thing Staley has in common with Las Vegas Raiders head coach Jon Gruden is both played quarterback - albeit many years apart - for the University of Dayton Flyers. (Staley is 38; Gruden is 57.)
In a tweet, Albert Breer compared Staley's background to that of former Cincinnati Bengals head coach and current Arizona State University Sun Devils co-defensive coordinator Marvin Lewis:
Staley, who spent one season as the Rams' defensive coordinator, was UD's starting quarterback in 2003 and 2004.
