A man died after he was ejected from his vehicle following a crash on Dixie Highway Friday night, Kenton County Police said.
At approximately 6 p.m., officers were dispatched in the 1500 block of Dixie Highway for a single-vehicle rollover collision.
Investigators said they found the vehicle about 50 feet off the roadway and the driver, 26-year-old Daniel Baker of Independence, Kentucky, non-responsive on the ground next to his car.
According to police, Baker was headed southbound on Dixie Highway
between Walton and Crittenden, Kentucky, when his 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe exited the right side of the roadway for unknown reasons.
Baker's car was then overcorrected, crossed the northbound lane of travel before exiting the roadway into a field, and overturning. When the vehicle rolled over, Baker was ejected from the car, police said.
Baker was pronounced dead on the scene after lifesaving efforts by emergency personnel were unsuccessful, police said.
According to investigators, Baker was the only person inside the car.
The Kenton County Police Department's Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Unit is continuing its investigation into the crash. Anyone who may have witnessed the
collision is encouraged to contact Sergeant Aaron Schihl at 859-392-1993.
