Chalmette ferry grounded, Canal-Algiers ferry loose


A ferry broke loose Sunday during Hurricane Ida and is now grounded. "Nothing we can do at this point," said St. Bernard Parish President Guy McInnis. The U.S. Coast Guard is reportedly in control of the situation.Another ferry also reportedly broke loose and ran aground.New Orleans Regional Transit Authority issued the following statement:"RTA is aware of the ferry vessel RTA2 detaching from the barge at our maintenance facility. The vessel is currently grounded and our contract ferry operator continues to monitor the situation.
