Reds keep one-game lead over Padres in wild-card race

The Cincinnati Reds maintained their one-game lead over the San Diego Padres in the National League wild-card standings with 35 games remaining in the 2021 Major League Baseball season despite a loss Tuesday night in their series opener against the Brewers in Milwaukee, as the Padres fell at home to the Los Angeles Dodgers in their series opener.

The Padres' loss was their 10th in 12 games. The Reds' 7-4 loss ended their four-game winning streak.

The Reds enter Wednesday with a 69-58 record; the Padres are 68-59.
