A rain and snow mix will overspread the area late this afternoon through early tonight, the National Weather Service said.
Temperatures will be in the mid-20s Thursday morning and may rise to a high of 41 degrees. There is an 80% chance of precipitation, mostly after 4 p.m.
"Both Cincinnati (KCVG) & Columbus (KCMH) are at 701 consecutive days w/ temp staying above the single digits. All-time records at both sites is 711 days. It'll be tough to get thru next 10 days without a single digit temp observed at either site. Only time will tell," the National Weather Service said in a Tweet.
There will be rain, possibly mixing with snow after midnight, then gradually ending. No snow accumulation is expected.
The National Weather Service said a significant cold spell is expected Saturday night into early next week. The lows on Saturday and Sunday are in the teens.
Thursday: Rain, mainly after 4 p.m. High near 41.
Friday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 32. A slight chance of snow between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m.
Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 34 and a low around 15.
Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 28 and a low around 17.
Monday: Partly sunny, with a high near 39 and a low around 27. A chance of rain and snow overnight.
Tuesday: A chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 34 and a low near 20.
Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 28.
