Authorities are searching for a shoplifter who allegedly fired a shot at a Northern Kentucky Kroger store. According to officials with Northern Kentucky University, it happened at a Kroger grocery store near campus, located on Martha Lane. The university says two shoplifting suspects were confronted at the store, at which point one of them fired a shot. No injuries have been reported, but campus officials asked students to avoid the area. Both men – one wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, and the other wearing all black – ran from the scene towards Salmon Pass, police said. No arrests have been made. Police said they will increase patrols in the East Village area overnight. Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
