Rumpke worker dies working near Wright Patterson Air Force Base

A Rumpke driver died Tuesday while working near Wright Patterson Air Force Base, officials said. A cause of death has not yet been determined.

Rumpke officials and investigators have not released the worker's name.

"Anytime a team member passes it's like losing a member of our family," a statement from Rumpke Waste & Recycling said. "Our hearts break for our team member, his family and anyone else touched by this situation."

The company reported that the circumstances surrounding the death are unclear and an investigation is ongoing.

"Rumpke is committed to working hand-in-hand with Wright Patterson and investigators to gather all the details," the statement said.

The company has made an assistance program available to its employees to help them with the loss.

"Rumpke's team members are keeping their fellow friend and colleague in their thoughts," the statement said.
