Those living in Greater Cincinnati are about to see a jump in efforts to inform people about the COVID-19 vaccine.
Interact for Health, the Norwood-based nonprofit that advocates for health issues including health equity, on Thursday announced a new FAQ on its website to help people understand the vaccines. For now, the questions and answers are provided in English or Spanish. Soon, French, Arabic and Nepali versions will be added.
The Norwood-based nonprofit also will host a a virtual community forum on Feb. 24 to answer general questions about the COVID-19 vaccine.

The agency announced the strategies to inform the public upon releasing new survey results that show that about 56% of Cincinnati region residents said they're "likely or somewhat likely" to get vaccinated for COVID-19.
The Interact for Health Survey, conducted by the Institute for Policy Research at the University of Cincinnati, polled a random sample of residents by phone in the fall. This was before any COVID-19 vaccines were approved for use in the United States. Ohio's first vaccines went out in December. A random sample of 879 adults from the Cincinnati region, including an oversample of Black residents, was interviewed by phone. The margin of error for the survey is plus or minus 3.3 percentage points.

Dr. O'dell Owens, president and CEO for the nonprofit, told The Enquirer earlier this month that Interact would take on the hesitancy issue in the region.
“To those people who are hesitant, I say, ‘I may die of a lot of things, but I am not going to die from COVID-19,' " Owens said. “Get the vaccine" as soon as you can."
Owens will lead the virtual forum, planned for 11 a.m. to noon on Wednesday. You can join though Facebook Live. Or through video conference or phone line. To do so, register here.
Among the questions on the Interact for Health FAQ are these:
- Is the vaccine safe?
- Wasn't the vaccine made too fast?
- Who can't get the vaccine?
Every answer is sourced, so the viewer can find out how Interact for Health attained the information.
Another event is slated for this weekend: The Greater Cincinnati Association of Black Journalists and the Regional COVID Communications Center are sponsoring a COVID-19vaccine town hall from 7-8 p.m. on Sunday.
