It's almost time for the start of the fall athletics season at Cincinnati Public Schools. CPS officials released health and safety protocols for students and spectators Monday ahead of the fall season."During the past year, the pandemic has forced us to make many adjustments and changes on and off the field. We are still navigating the pandemic, requiring flexibility and patience. Please continue to abide by our safety measures," CPS officials said in a statement.Fall sports at CPS include golf, tennis, field hockey, cross country, volleyball, soccer and football.CPS has released these protocols for the fall season: Social distancing is recommended at all times possible. Student-athletes are recommended to bring their own water bottles and equipment as needed. Masks are required at all times. Students may remove masks during physical activity. All spectators will be expected to wear masks at this time. Check-ins and accurate attendance will be required at all practices and events. Temperature checks will no longer be required. Spectators will be permitted at contests and athletic events at this time. CPS officials said if the protocols are updated through the Board of Education policy, coaches and athletic directors will be notified.This season, all tickets to events will be available for purchase through Hometown Ticketing.The first day of school for CPS schools is Aug. 19.
