The city of Middletown says it is working with the Middletown City Schools and a financial institution to create a trust to benefit the siblings of James Hutchinson.
"We anticipate the trust being available for the community soon and we will share that information as soon as possible," the city said in a news release.
Police say James was dumped into the Ohio River near Lawrenceburg, Indiana after he was killed by his mother, Brittany Gosney.
A Preble County investigator reported that Gosney said she got all three children out of the car – Hutchinson and his siblings, ages 7 and 9. But after James was injured, she put her "two live children" back in the van, and drove away, according to the report.
Teams have been searching for James since Sunday morning. The search was suspended Wednesday due to high water.
The Enquirer will update when information about the trust becomes available.
