Eleven weeks after vaccine distribution began locally, 9.5% of Southwest Ohio residents have been full vaccinated. Put another way, the total of 153,000 is roughly equivalent to the combined populations of Colerain, Green and Springfield townships.
The region saw fewer than 3,000 new COVID-19 cases last week. The growth in the cases continued to slow, with only two Southwest Ohio counties remaining at two times the rate of community spread.
To put the case total in context, 203,000 is slightly smaller than the population of Clermont County. Put another way, 202,7321 positive tests mean that one in 11 residents of the 2.2 million metro area population has been found with the virus (some may have been tested more than once).
