20-year-old hospitalized after lightning strike, said 911 dispatcher

A 20-year-old woman was taken to the hospital Friday after a lightning strike sent a softball field light pole tumbling into a trailer she was in.

A woman was inside a trailer at a softball park in Crosby Township, Ohio when lightning struck Friday, causing a pole to topple onto the trailer, said a 911 dispatcher.

The 20-year-old woman was taken at about 7:41 p.m. to Mercy Health - West Hospital in Green Township said the dispatcher. The extent of the woman's injuries is not known.

A light pole came into a window of the trailer, the dispatcher said.

An employee at River City Sports Complex West said there was a lightning strike, and that a pole came down onto a trailer.

The softball field complex at 10400 Ohio State Route 128, Harrison, Ohio, was scheduled for a tournament on Friday night.
