A 24-year-old woman is dead after a house fire in North Fairmount Friday evening.Fire crews responded to the 1900 block of Baltimore Avenue around 8 p.m.When firefighters arrived at the scene, they saw a heavy blaze coming from the back of the building from the first floor extending up to the second floor. Crews said the majority of the fire was on the first floor of the home in the kitchen area.According to the Cincinnati Fire Department, the initial report was that there were two victims trapped inside the home, but a person outside of the home told firefighters that there was just one person in the upstairs part of the building who was trapped.Crews located the 24-year-old woman hiding in a closet on the second floor of the home. The woman was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center for treatment, where she later died, according to Cincinnati Fire.The Hamilton County Coroner's office has identified the woman as Maronique Sanders.A 13-year-old boy had exited the home before firefighters arrived. He was taken to Cincinnati Children's Hospital for treatment for smoke inhalation.A firefighter also suffered from minor injuries, officials said. He was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital for treatment.It's unclear at this time what caused the fire but crews are still investigating.Damages are estimated to be around $50,000.
