Glier's Goettafest, a celebration of all things goetta, is returning to Newport this summer and this year, it will also be expanding to Covington.Organizers announced the festival will take place over a span of eight days over two goetta-filled weekends — from July 29 - Aug. 1 and Aug. 5 - 8.It will take place at Newport's Festival Park and the new Covington Plaza located on Covington's riverfront at the base of the Roebling Bridge. Queen City Riverboats will be taking guests from Goettafest East to Goettafest West all weekend long. Ride-all-day wristbands will be available for $12 and children 12 and under can ride for free.Last year, the festival was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.It's the only festival of its kind, celebrating all things goetta — and we mean all things.Vendors will serve more than 60 unique goetta items.
