Wes Miller may be out of scholarships to offer for the upcoming 2021-22 season, but the 38-year-old first-year University of Cincinnati men's basketball coach on Tuesday still added a significant piece to the Bearcats' roster.
Canal Winchester Harvest Prep guard Christopher "CJ" Anthony, Central Ohio's all-time leading scorer with 2,395 career points, announced his commitment to Miller.
The 6-foot Anthony will join the UC program as a preferred walk-on.
Anthony helped lead Harvest Prep to the Division III boys' basketball state championship in 2019. Anthony was named the Division III Player of the Year in 2019 and 2020.
Indiana CB Carroll commits to Bearcats
UC football coach Luke Fickell's goal in recruiting is to completely dominate the 300-mile radius around the city of Cincinnati.
Fickell on Tuesday landed another commitment from within that area.
Kalen Carroll, a three-star cornerback from Center Grove High School in Greenwood, Indiana, announced his commitment to Fickell and the Bearcats.
The 6-foot-1, 175-pound Carroll chose the Bearcats over offers from Toledo, Miami University, Boston College and Indiana, among others.
Carroll is UC's 13th commitment from the 2022 class.
