2 dead, 3 injured after shooting at The Banks


Two people are dead and another three are injured after a late-night shooting in Smale Riverfront Park at The Banks on Sunday. Police said the shooting happened around 10:45 p.m. while hundreds of kids gathered to celebrate the Fourth of July.Officers were in the process of clearing the park when they heard gunfire.When officers arrived on scene they found three victims suffering from gunshot wounds. One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene.The two other victims were taken to UC Medical Center where one of them succumbed to his injuries shortly after arriving.The two victims who were pronounced dead have been identified as Milo Watson, 16, and Dexter Wright Jr., 19. Shortly after the shooting, police said two more victims arrived at UC Medical Center by private conveyance. The three surviving victims are not being identified at this time. There is no word yet on a suspect, police said. "At this point we really need people that were around that saw something that recorded video to provide that information to us. It is a very complicated scene and we feel for those who have lost loved ones tonight the family members who are dealing with that loss," Cincinnati police Lt, Steve Saunders said. Mehring Way and Smale Riverfront Park were shut down for hours while police investigated. Both have since reopened. Cincinnati police are set to give an update later on Monday.
