ONE OF THE SIGNATURE EVENTS IS THE ANNUAL RED WHITE AND BOOM CONCERT AT RIVERBEND. OUR JULY 4 CONCERT WILL BE THE FIRST TIME OUR FULL ORCHESTRA WILL BE ON STAGE, SHOULD TERO SHOULDER. WHEN I THINK OF EIGHT JULY 4 CONCERT ITS IALL ABOUT AMERICAN MUSIC. I CAN’T THINK OF ANYTHING MORE PATRIOTIC THAN JZAZ OR, BROADWAYOR, BLURAEGSS, OR FUNK. THIS IS OUR MUSIC. Riverbend has been the site of a Greater Cincinnati summer musical celebration for several decades. This weekend the musical tradition returns to the stage. The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra at Riverbend is one of Cincinnati's great traditions and last summer it did not happen because of the pandemic. The concert is called Red White and Boom.“Our July 4 concert is going to be the first time our full orchestra will be on stage, shoulder to shoulder,” John Morris Russell, conductor said.Russell said it’s a great opportunity to share the eloquence of American musicals with the community.This is the first concert at the venue in more than a year. Capacity at Riverbend is about 20,000. The Pops is offering free lawn tickets for kids 17 and under and a five-dollar ticket for active and retired military for Sunday’s concert.
