Zip's Cafe in Mount Lookout is closed through the weekend and part of next week due to flooding from excessive rain this week.
In a Facebook post on Thursday, restaurant officials said they had "never seen Delta (Avenue) look quite like this" and posted a picture of high water in the street.
In the Facebook post, Zip's said they are dealing with a "sizeable clean-up" and are working with a remediation company to fix the damages.
Mike Burke, owner of Zip's Cafe, said they had to throw out all the food in cold storage and that the restaurant's back room had 4 feet of water in it.
He told the Enquirer he had "no clue" how much damage has been done.
"With loss of revenue included, it's a lot of money," he said.
His goal is to open Wednesday night but that isn't set in stone. Currently, they are drying out the back room and Burke said it could take up to 5 days to do that properly.
Burke said flooding is a constant issue in the area and over in Hyde Park Square. He said the square looked like a lake.
"It wasn't a torrential downpour and … it was quickly backing up," Burke said. "It went from nothing to an issue in 5 minutes."
Most of Greater Cincinnati got between 2 to 3 inches of rain over a three-day period this week, with some seeing up to 4 inches of rain. At one point on Wednesday nearby Columbia Tusculum received 3.44 inches in under an hour.
