In his first tweet since April 29, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joey Burrow reacted to news that hundreds of thousands of college athletes are now able to earn name, image or likeness (NIL) compensation, which has been barred for decades by regulations from the NCAA, conferences and/or schools.
Burrow said the NIL changes are "long overdue," and added he's "most excited for non-scholarship athletes" working jobs "to make ends meet" because they will "make their lives a lot easier."
Last week, The Enquirer's Tyler Dragon wrote that Burrow and former LSU teammate Ja'Marr Chase, a first-round pick of the Bengals in April's draft, were picking up where they left off as they prepare for the upcoming NFL season.
