Heavy rain, flash flooding continues Thursday but relief is on the way


Relief from the rain is on the way, but first, one more day of off and on downpours. While coverage may be greatest during the afternoon and evening, the threat will continue overnight. It will still feel very humid outside as temperatures fall from the 80s into the 70s with rain, then lows in in the upper 60s. Due to the coverage of clouds and off and on rain Thursday, highs will be stay in the mid 70s. Rain will begin to fade Thursday evening after 6 p.m. The severe threat should remain low, with a brief strong wind gust being the main worry. Otherwise, storms will be capable of torrential downpours and dangerous lightning.Much more comfortable air arrives Friday and into the holiday weekend, which is looking great for fun outside. Some clouds may linger Friday as highs cool to the upper 70s. High temperatures will rise to around 80 Saturday, mid 80s for the 4th of July, and around 90 degrees Monday. Nights will be cooler too, in the upper 50s, then to the mid 60s by Sunday night as we start a warming trend again for next week.
