ROSELAWN – One of the area's top basketball talents will not finish his high school career in Ohio as Paul McMillan IV will be leaving Woodward High School to transfer to Hillcrest Prep.

The move was first reported by Corey Albertson of Triple Double Prospects. Hillcrest Prep, a national high school team out of Gilbert, Arizona near Phoenix also announced it on their Facebook page. Woodward basketball coach Jarelle Redden confirmed McMillan’s move Sunday.
McMillan spent his freshman year at Hughes, then transferred to Woodward in the Cincinnati Metro Athletic Conference where he has played the last two seasons. During his high school career, he's been two-time CMAC Player of the Year, part of two CMAC championships, three-time First Team District 16, three-time All-Southwest District and two-time First Team All-State. He has scored 1,925 points in three seasons.
As a freshman, he averaged 24.7 points and four assists at Hughes. His sophomore year he averaged 31.3 points and 5.1 assists while shooting 55.5% from the field, 43.4 from the three-point line and 80.6 on free throws. Last season he averaged 28 points per game, 5.1 assists. shooting 54.5% from the field, 52.5 on threes and 83.7 on free throws.
Richard Obert of the Arizona Republic talked to the Hillcrest Prep coach.
"Paul is an elite point guard who can put up points," said Nick Weaver, recruiting coordinator and co-founder of Hillcrest Prep. "He is very tough on the defensive end and will get in you 92 feet.
"He adds speed, quickness and toughness to the program. We are so excited to have Paul."
Hillcrest Academy is a little over 28 miles from Arizona State University where coach Bobby Hurley offered McMillan IV a scholarship according to his father.
McMillan IV's other reported offers came from locals UC and Xavier and included Dayton, Louisville, Kansas State, Ole Miss, Penn State and Purdue.
