Sunny skies, warmer temperatures for Easter weekend

The cold snap isn't quite over yet but this weekend will feature plenty of sun and warmer temperatures.

A freeze warning is in effect from 11 p.m. Friday to 10 a.m. Saturday. Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 28 are expected.

Frost and freeze conditions will kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.

"To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-ground pipes to protect them from freezing.

Saturday will be sunny with a high near 60.

Easter will feature perfect egg-hunting weather, with sunny skies, a light breeze and a high near 66.

A warming trend will pick up next week, with temperatures in the 70s possible. Showers and thunderstorms will re-enter the forecast Wednesday.
