Former Aiken High School standout Carlik Jones announced Saturday he's entering his name in the 2021 NBA Draft. But Jones left open the possibility that he might return for another season with the University of Louisville Cardinals.
Last season - Jones' first at Louisville - he led the Cardinals with 16.8 points, 4.5 assists and 1.4 steals per game. He also averaged 4.9 rebounds per game as a first-team all-ACC selection.
He played the season as a graduate transfer, but with the NCAA granting an extra year of eligibility because of the pandemic, Cardinals head coach Chris Mack, the former head coach of the Xavier Musketeers, said last month that Jones was "open-minded" about his options.
Jones' roommate, Malik Williams, announced his decision to return to the school last month.
Jones transferred to Louisville after he was named the Big South Player of the Year as a redshirt junior guard for the Radford Highlanders.
At Aiken, Jones was twice named CMAC Player of the Year.
