Unemployment reopens in Kentucky

Kentucky's unemployment system is expected to reopen Tuesday after a four-day shutdown. 

The system was shuttered Thursday after reports that people's benefits were stolen, possibly by a group of sophisticated hackers. 

The state is using the downtime to secure the ailing system, which has been under significant strain during the pandemic.

Starting today, the Federal Emergency Management Agency is accepting applications for COVID-19-related funeral assistance.

Eligible applicants can recoup up to $9,000, while families with multiple deaths can receive up to $35,000.
