Former Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator and assistant coach Hue Jackson is new Tennessee State head coach Eddie George's top target to become the Tigers' offensive coordinator, according to a report Sunday from Footballscoop.com's John Brice.

Jackson spent part of the 2018 season as a special assistant to then-head coach Marvin Lewis with the Cincinnati Bengals - Jackson's most recent coaching job - and was considered a candidate to replace Lewis as head coach before the Bengals hired Zac Taylor.
Last month, Jackson said in a radio interview with The Really Big Show on ESPN 850 that "there's no doubt" he was "lied to by ownership and leadership" of the Cleveland Browns while he was their head coach, adding that he received a contract extension in the middle of an 0-16 season in 2017 that the team didn't announce.
Jackson has said he's writing a book about his time with Cleveland that will be released later this year.
Jackson was the Bengals' wide receivers coach from 2004 to 2006. He returned to Cincinnati as an assistant when the Oakland Raiders fired him after one season (2011) as their head coach. He was a Bengals assistant and offensive coordinator before the Browns brought him in as their head coach in 2016.
Jackson said in Aug. 2019 that he became depressed after struggling to a 3-36-1 record as Cleveland's head coach and wasn't sure what would have happened had Lewis not reached out to him.
Jackson interviewed in January with the Pittsburgh Steelers about their offensive-coordinator vacancy, according to multiple reports. Pittsburgh promoted quarterbacks coach Matt Canada to the coordinator position.
