A litter contractor with the Indiana Department of Transportation now has a friend for life after an unexpected rescue last month.The crew was working on the side of the road when they discovered a lost puppy.The department said crew members took the pup with them to get him checked for a microchip and try to find where he came from. The puppy was taken to the veterinarian where he got a clean bill of health but a microchip was not found.After no luck of trying to find where he came from, the litter contractor who first discovered him brought him home and adopted him. He named the puppy Lucky in honor of the unexpected, but lucky, rescue.
