FC Cincinnati's Allan Cruz and Ronald Matarrita have been called up to represent their home country.
Cruz and Matarrita will play on the Costa Rica national team for the Concacaf Nations League Finals, FC Cincinnati announced Tuesday. The pair's international appearances will begin with a semifinal match on June 3 against Mexico in Denver, Colo. The winner of the match will advance to the final on June 6, with the loser continuing to the third-place playoff.

The pair will also appear on the Costa Rica roster for a friendly against the United States on June 9 at Rio Tinto Stadium. Cruz and Matarrita's last international appearance came together in Costa Rica's friendly against Mexico on March 30, 2020.
Despite the call-up's, both Cruz and Matarrita will remain available for FC Cincinnati's May 29 match against New England Revolution, a team spokesperson confirmed to the Enquirer. After Saturday, FC Cincinnati does not play another match until June 19, well after the duo's international caps.
Cruz has tallied a total of eight goals and one assist in his three seasons with FC Cincinnati. He has started in three of his four appearances this season, tallying three shots, with one on-target.

Cruz has earned 19 caps with Costa Rica since his debut on Sept. 7, 2018.
Matarrita is in his debut season with FC Cincinnati after five years at New York City FC. Matarrita has started in all five matches this season for FC Cincinnati and he leads the team in assists with three. He also ties for second on the team in shots (6).

Matarrita has earned 38 caps with Costa Rica since his debut on Sept. 5, 2015.
FC Cincinnati will host New England Revolution on Saturday at 3 p.m. with Cruz and Matarrita available to play.
