Brie Crittendon, Ryle – The senior averaged 14 points per game for the Raiders, who were 23-3, 33rd District champions and Ninth Region semifinalists. She was the Ninth Region’s Miss Basketball finalist and a McDonald’s All-American nominee.
Joel Steczynski, Dixie Heights; and Kevin Bundy, Bishop Brossart – Steczynski led the Colonels to their first Sweet 16 since 1992. Dixie finished 27-3, winning 22 in a row, and lost to Russell in the first round. Bundy led the Mustangs to their first Sweet 16 since 2001, losing in the first round to Bowling Green. Brossart finished 21-6 overall and won the 37th District and 10th Region.

Swimmer of the year
Braden Osborn, Mason - The senior was the anchor on Mason’s state-champion 200 medley relay and led off the Comets’ third-place 200 free relay squad. Individually, he finished fifth in the 100 free and won a state championship in the 50 free.
Diver of the year
Samuel Hool, Talawanda – The senior won a district championship and finished 14th at state.

Swimmer of the Year
Mac Russell, Highlands - Russell, who has signed with Kentucky, won the KHSAA state championship in the 50-yard freestyle for the second straight year. He also won the 100 freestyle, giving him three career championships. He made the All-American cut in winning both events. He also swam on the 400 freestyle relay that finished second in the state and the 200 medley relay that finished eighth. Both of those relays won the regional championship in addition to his solo crowns.
Diver of the Year
Aidan Stigall, St. Henry – He won the KHSAA state diving championship with 465.75 points, marking the 11th time in the last 12 seasons a local diver has won the boys championship.
Coach of the Year
Amanda Johnson, Highlands – She directed the Bluebirds to second place in the KHSAA state meet behind Louisville St. Xavier, who won its 33rd consecutive team championship.

Emma Dalton, Mason- The senior delivered Greater Cincinnati’s only Division I girls swimming championship, winning the 100 backstroke in 53.91. Dalton also led off Mason’s state runner-up 200 medley relay and was on the Comets’ fourth-place fun in the 200 free relay.

Lainy Kruger, Notre Dame – The sophomore won the state championship in the 100-yard breaststroke, meeting the All-American time standard. She finished second in the 100 freestyle, just 0.09 seconds off of the previous state record. Kruger set a school record in the event. She was regional champion in both events.

Wrestler of the Year
Spencer Moore, Walton-Verona and Bryer Hall, East Central – Hall won the IHSAA state championship at 170 pounds , his first. He won all four of his matches in the state meet by pin, only the ninth wrestler in the history of the meet to do so, and in the third-fastest combined time. He finished 34-0 this season and has signed with Ohio State. Moore won the KHSAA state championship at 120, his second. Moore, ranked first, won all three of his matches by early pin. Moore will wrestle for the University of North Carolina next season . He finished 27-0 this season.
Coach of the Year
Tim Ruschell, Ryle – He led the Raiders to the Region 6 championship and second place in the KHSAA state tournament. The Raiders had two state champions and nine state medalists.
