Nick Castellanos told imagine Rob Manfred’s face on ball before homer

DENVER – After Nick Castellanos hit a game-tying, two-run home run in the third inning Saturday, he fist-bumped a fan wearing a Cincinnati Reds jersey who was sitting next to the team's dugout at Coors Field.

Why the fist bump?

"So, I told Nick when he got up there that he should imagine that Rob Manfred's face was on the baseball," the unnamed fan said after Castellanos passed along his headset in his post-game interview with Bally Sports Ohio. "And the next pitch, he lit it up over the fence, baby."

Castellanos crossed his arms and stared at the camera as the fan explained the story, referencing MLB's commissioner. When the fan finished, Castellanos offered a shrug.

"Whatever it takes," the fan said.

Castellanos gave the fan another fist bump and smiled as the interview ended. The Reds won Saturday's game against the Rockies, 6-5, in 12 innings.

Castellanos received a two-game suspension last month for "instigating a benches-clearing incident" when he scored on a wild pitch, stood over St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Jake Woodford and shouted.
