It was tough for Cincinnati Bearcats fans to predict how the College Football Playoff selection committee would rank Luke Fickell's team after UC survived a scare against Tulsa on Homecoming - following competitive games against Navy and Tulane the previous two weeks - but remained unbeaten.
After debuting last week at No. 6, the Bearcats moved up this week to No. 5 - just outside the all-important top four teams, which included Georgia, Alabama, Oregon and Ohio State. And it's now the new best ranking ever for a Group of 5 team.
