It’s disgusting that people were laughing this off just because the Bengals were 1-11 at the time. The Patriots have done this before and instructed their spies to use the advance scout team as an excuse, so they knew what they were doing.
The Bengals had a new Head Coach, so the Patriots wanted to steal his signs. The Patriots were afraid about losing the first round bye to the Ravens and Chiefs, so they needed all the advantages they could get.
Fines, lost draft picks, etc. aren’t stopping the Patriots from cheating and destroying evidence. If the Committee of Owners had any balls, they’d force Kraft to sell the Patriots. By condoning behavior that obviously won’t stop, they’re letting Kraft take games, and this money out of their pockets.
Then again, these are the same worms that didn’t do anything to the late Al Davis, even when he repeatedly abused process by filing frivolous lawsuits.
