WVU students get surprise financial literacy lecture from Bob Huggins

West Virginia University Mountaineers assistant coach Erik Martin, who has served on head coach Bob Huggins' coaching staff since 2007 and played collegiately for Huggins' University of Cincinnati Bearcats from 1991 to 1993, shared Wednesday via Twitter that Huggins was a guest speaker in a lecture hall for a course about financial literacy.

Huggins, who turned 68 last week, agreed in August to a two-year contract extension as WVU's head coach that includes an option for him to step aside or continue after the 2023-24 season.

Huggins - entering his 15th season as WVU's head coach - ranks eighth in wins among coaches at Div. I programs with 829. His total of 900 as a head coach includes his wins at NAIA Walsh from 1980 to 1983. His 900th career win came in WVU's NCAA Tournament first-round victory.

Huggins told The Enquirer in June that he has no plans to retire anytime soon.
