Detroit Lions defensive tackle Joel Heath, a former Mt. Healthy High School standout, suffered a torn ACL on Wednesday and will miss the upcoming season, according to a report via Twitter from NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
Heath is one of 17 NFL players - not including those drafted recently or signed as undrafted free agents - from Greater Cincinnati high schools.

In February, the Lions signed Heath to a reserve/future contract days after he was waived by the Denver Broncos.
The Cincinnati native opted out of the 2020 season because of concerns related to COVID-19 and did not play for the Broncos.
Heath played in 32 games over four seasons for the Houston Texans from 2016 to 2019, starting 16 of them. He signed with the Texans as an undrafted free agent from Michigan State in 2016.
