Flood warnings issued as heavy rain rolls through Cincinnati
A flood warning has been issued by the National Weather Service for Wilmington, OH.
Alright, just a few seconds before 10 15 on your saturday morning, Happy New Year, everyone welcome to january. Today's theme for the next day is enjoying the rain slash mild weather. You can enjoy it because Katie said the tumble is coming. It is, yeah, I just, at least for a couple of days and then we're going to have another little brief bout of high forties, low fifties and and then and then back into the cold again. So we're gonna ride the roller coaster. That is Cincinnati weather here this week. Um right now we're soaking up what feels like spring to kick off 2022. We've got those heavy rains out there and we also have those temperatures in the high fifties. So it is quite mild as we start out our saturday morning live radar right now showing the light rainfall through Cincinnati and places around the 2 75 loop. But just off to the west here we've got some pockets of heavier rainfall around New Haven, back towards Harrison and Miami Town, so that's going to be lifting north and east further west here through Dearborn Ripley County, we've got some really heavy rain, especially through Sundman down into Manchester, Manchester Mile. And you're really seeing some soaking rains right now, likely some ponding on the roadways with that batch of showers there further south here across northern Kentucky, we're looking at a few breaks that's mainly from Falmouth and Mount all event places back into Switzerland County and Warsaw and VV areas, seeing some heavier rain showers right now. Now the little break here around Wilmington's all the way down into people so far eastern communities, seeing a little bit of a break in the action. But even if you're not seeing rain right now, there's plenty more on the way here, we've got a huge channel of moisture coming up from the south and west. That's going to keep that rain around all day today. So that heavy batch of rain really arriving right on time here as we approach the late morning and into the lunch hour. So today we've got a weather impact in place that's due to heavy rain. You might hear a little thunder, but I think any kind of severe weather that we're seeing today that's gonna remain well south Through the Tennessee valley areas there through tonight though mostly cloudy skies are expected scattered rain showers and temperatures toppling to around 39 as you head towards the dawn hours tomorrow, so things really cooling off as we head into the last part of the weekend here. But in the meantime, rain continues to remain an issue. Flood watches are out here in our green highlighted counties. Anyone under a flood watch today that's south of the 71 75 Split Switzerland County, Brown and Adams County in Ohio, you could see anywhere from 2 to 3 inches of rainfall as these soaking rounds of moisture come through. So around 12 o'clock today, you can see that batch of heavy rainfall here, pushing into the greater Cincinnati area points east, we're going to continue to see some of that as you head through three o'clock and then everyone's been asking me on facebook, when are we going to see a break? I think sometime around 78 o'clock tonight we're probably going to get into a little break in the action. We're not going to get rid of the rain completely, but those steady waves of heavy rainfall that should start to at least taper off a bit. So we're gonna have hit and miss activity through tonight. Cold air starts to rap in into tomorrow morning and that will change things over to a bit of wintry precept forecast rainfall again, we could see 2 to 3 inches here and then up north of Cincinnati anywhere from an inch and a half to two inches. This is additional rainfall to what has already fallen in the last 12 hours here. So your 10 day, seven day forecast brings the sunshine into Monday and Tuesday after a couple of snow showers tomorrow. And we're looking at another chance for some wintry weather into thursday and friday MEREDITH. Okay. Mhm

WE’RE GOING TO CONTINUE TO SEE SOME OF THAT AS YOU HEAD THROUGH THREE O’CLOCK AND THEN EVERYONE'’ ASKING ME ON FACEBOOK. WHEN ARE WE GOING TO SEE A BREAK? WELL, I THINK SOMETIME AROUND SEVEN EIGHT O’CLOCK TONIGHT. WE’RE PROBABLY GOING TO GET INTO A LITTLE BREAK IN THE ACTION. WE’RE NOT GOING TOET G RID OF THE RAIN COMPLETELY BUT THOSE STEADY WAVES OF HEAVY RAINFALL THAT SHOULD START TO AT LEAST TAPER OFF A BIT. SO WE’RE GONNA HAVE HIT AND MISS ACTIVITY THRGHOU TONIGHT COLD AIR STARTS TO WRAP IN INTO TOMORROW MORNING AND THAT’LL CHANGE THINGSVE OR TO A BIT OF WINTRY PRECIP FORECAST RAINFALL AGAIN, WE COULD SEE TWO TO THREE INCHES HERE AND THEN UP NORTH OF CINCINNATI ANYWHERE FROM AN INCH D AAN HALF TO TWO INCHES.
