Bengals defensive back Eli Apple made a very significant tackle on a goal-line stand at the end of the first half of Sunday's AFC Championship first half against the Chiefs in Kansas City, keeping the score at 21-10 as Cincinnati rallied for 21 unanswered points.
On Feb. 13 in Los Angeles, Apple is set to play in the Super Bowl for the first time in his six-season National Football League career.
Carolina Panthers beat writer Sheena Quick tweeted that Apple said that Panthers head coach Matt Rhule told Apple when Carolina released him in Oct. 2020 that Apple would "never play anywhere again":
