David Wassler, a forward/center from St. Xavier High School, had a Senior Night he won't forget in Northern Kentucky's win Saturday night against Youngstown State at BB&T Arena - the Norse's regular-season finale.
The senior walk-on entered the game - following chants from fans of "David Wassler" - with about one minute remaining. With 33 seconds left, Wassler made the only 3-pointer he attempted - and the crowd erupted. It was the second 3-point field goal of Wassler's season and NKU career.
Social media reactions - including video - from @NKUNorseMBB:
Wassler is among 46 Division I men's college basketball players from Greater Cincinnati this season.
With the 75-61 win against YSU, NKU claimed the No. 3 seed in the 2022 Horizon League Men’s Basketball Championship and a first-round bye in the conference tournament.
