Frank Pollack is returning to the sideline in Cincinnati.
Pollack was named the Bengals’ offensive line coach and run game coordinator, the team announced on Saturday. Pollack previously served as the team’s offensive line coach in 2018. He spent the last two seasons as the New York Jets offensive line coach.
“Frank will help us make great strides in the run game and protections,” Bengals coach Zac Taylor in a team statement. “He brings great technical skills in player development and his familiarity with some of our current offensive linemen will allow him to get to work right away.
"We interviewed several strong candidates to get the best outcome for our team. I am excited about the experience Frank brings to our offense.”
Under Pollack's teaching in 2018, Cincinnati’s offensive line ranked 11th in the NFL in fewest sacks allowed per contest (2.3).
In the run game, Joe Mixon rushed for a career-high 1,168 yards and eight rushing touchdowns in the 2018 season.
Pollack played eight seasons in the NFL before becoming an NFL offensive line coach in 2007. The veteran O-line coach is replacing Jim Turner who the Bengals let go after the regular season.
