Kings Island is cutting park hours due to a shortage of workers.
In a letter to season passholders on Thursday, Kings Island announced the park will be closing two hours earlier.
Starting Friday, the amusement park will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. That closing time is two hours earlier than its normal closing time at 10 p.m. According to the letter, the decision was made due to a shortage of staffing at the park. The adjusted hours are scheduled through June 10 for now.
"We want to be sure we are delivering a fun and memorable experience but like a wide range of industries, the availability of labor continues to be a challenge, and our park is not immune," the letter states.
The announcement also mentions the opening of Soak City Waterpark this weekend. Guests are required to make reservations ahead of visiting the waterpark. At this time, there are no reservations left for opening weekend, according to the letter.
Season passholders are able to enter the park starting at 10:30 a.m. for early ride times even with the adjusted summer hours.
The adjusted hours come after several fights broke out at Kings Island this past weekend, causing the park to close early. The park announced on Tuesday that it will be increasing security and is working with the Mason Police Department to identify the individuals responsible for the fighting.
