The Cincinnati Bengals will be without the services of wide receiver Tee Higgins (shoulder) and safety Jessie Bates (neck) on Thursday night when the team hosts the Jacksonville Jaguars (0-3) at Paul Brown Stadium.
Higgins will now miss two consecutive games for the Bengals as he was unable to play in Pittsburgh in Week 3. Bates injured his neck against the Steelers and didn't practice all week.
Two other Bengals starters are listed as doubtful for Thursday's game: Cornerback Chidobe Awuzie (groin) and guard Xavier Su'a-Filo (knee) are unlikely at this point to play. Awuzie also suffered his injury in the Week 3 contest and Su'a'-Filo was ruled out ahead of the game after suffering a knee injury against the Bears. Rookie second-round pick Jackson Carman will start in place of Su'a-Filo for the second straight week.
On a more positive note, the Bengals will get veteran cornerback Trae Waynes back in the lineup as he was listed as a full participant in Cincinnati's walk-through on Wednesday. Waynes has yet to take a snap for the Bengals since signing a three-year contract worth $40 million in March 2020. Right tackle Riley Reiff was also listed as a full participant with no game status designation, meaning he's good to go. Reiff suffered an ankle injury in the 24-10 win over the Steelers.
