The former Macy's building has been stripped of the retailer's name — a noticeable change to the Cincinnati skyline. Throughout the week, crews have been working to remove the Macy's logo on the downtown building. The "Macy's" script has been removed as of Friday, now leaving behind only the iconic red star. The removal follows an announcement in February 2020 that the retailer would be shuttering its Cincinnati headquarters. It’s part of what Macy’s called a three-year plan to stabilize profitability.The Cincinnati corporate headquarters closed, along with the company’s San Francisco and Lorain, Ohio, offices. The company also closed its Tempe, Arizona, customer contact center and consolidated customer service work into its Mason, Ohio, and Clearwater, Florida, facilities.New York City is now the company’s sole corporate headquarters.
