The Reds’ wild-card lead over the San Diego Padres stays at two games

The Cincinnati Reds maintained their two-game lead over the San Diego Padres in the National League wild-card standings with 32 games remaining for both teams in the 2021 Major League Baseball season with a 6-0 win Friday night in Miami, as the Padres topped the Angels, 5-0, later in the evening.

The Padres' win was just their third in 15 games. The Reds have won 10 of 15 with Friday's victory.

The Reds are 71-59, and the Padres are 69-61 entering Saturday's games. The Reds face the Marlins in Miami again Saturday (at 6:10 p.m. Eastern) and Sunday (at 1:10 p.m. Eastern), while the Padres play one more on the road Saturday against the Angels before a day off Sunday.
