Historic downtown Lebanon has a quaint and charming feel.

The small town’s Southern-style main roads are lined with trees, its brick sidewalks wide for pedestrians shopping, grabbing a bite or simply wandering the streets.

Downtown Lebanon’s country charm is around every corner. It is a lovely place to spend the day browsing around, walking down Broadway, Mulberry and Main streets, going into any given shop or restaurant. While there are dozens of them, here is a list of a select few I have visited and loved.

Lebanon is a great place to shop for antiques – this store offers an eclectic mix of antiques and collectibles from more than 50 vendors. The ample selection makes for an interesting visit and means you never know what cute vintage item you might find. Address: 15-17 S. Broadway St.

Your antique shopping might continue at Ambassador's. If what you are looking for falls under the category of period furniture, paintings or decorative art pieces, you should consider checking out this store. Address: 23 S. Broadway St.

Blume offers handmade and vintage-inspired home decor. One of the best parts about the shop is its wonderful smell, a blend of the various scented candles, soaps, lotions and body scrubs on display (they even have cocktail-scented candles). You can browse around for posters, clocks, handmade jewelry, journals, apparel and more. Address: 9 S. Broadway St.

This modern general store boasts fresh and unique foods, including Amish cheeses, bulk spices, jams, cornbread mixes, gravy mixes and homemade confections. The small-town country store also sells local jewelry pieces and select home decorations. Address: 21 E. Main St.

A local favorite, this old-fashioned ice cream parlor sells burgers, shakes and ice cream sodas. The Village Parlor’s hometown feel and welcoming atmosphere make for an enjoyable experience with tasty food. Plus, it’s been a filming location for the movies "Harper Valley PTA" (1978) and "Milk Money" (1994), so it is a cool place to check out. Address: 22 S. Broadway St.

Village Ice Cream Parlor is a Lebanon classic and has been a filming location for two movies.

Visit this cozy coffee shop on Main Street. The lounge-style cafe offers caffeinated drinks, smoothies and baked goods, and has plenty of sitting room upstairs and on their outside patio. There is also a gift store/retail area downstairs. It’s always a good place to stop by after a day of shopping. Address: 9 E. Main St.

Anna's makes freshly popped popcorn in a variety of flavors including caramel, cheddar and birthday cake. Monthly flavors are more experimental and always fun to try: for July, there is BBQ popcorn in celebration of summer. Address: 2 S. Broadway St.
