Covington police are searching for a suspected shooter after a shots fired call led to a police pursuit Monday.It happened around 11:37 a.m. when police were called to the 900 block of Montague Road for a report of multiple shots fired.When they got to the scene, they were told someone fired shots from their car and hit the residence.Witnesses described the car to police and officers who were on their way to the scene spotted the car and tried to pull the driver over.The car fled onto I-75 southbound leading police on a pursuit with speeds over 100 mph. That's when the car tried to run a cruiser off the road.The driver continued onto I-275 eastbound and ended when the driver crossed several lanes onto Dixie Highway and police couldn't safely pursue.The car then fled in an unknown direction on Dixie Highway. It was later located by Erlanger Police but no one was inside.Officers later found shell casings from at least two different weapons at the house where the original shots fired call was made. Police said at this time, they believe that shooting was a targeted incident and not a random act of violence.Officers are continuing to investigate and will update with more information when it become available.
