The subscription-based service made the announcement Tuesday evening via Twitter. Chatterbox Sports broadcasts numerous high school events and also offers podcasts. Recently new University of Cincinnati basketball coach Wes Miller, UC women's basketball coach Michele Clark-Heard and former UC quarterback Tony Pike have been featured guests on those podcasts.

Brennaman appeared at the end of the announcement.

"I'm so grateful and excited," Brennaman said. "I grew up here in Greater Cincinnati. I know what high school football, high school basketball and high school sports mean to this area. This is what I was doing at Channel 5 when my career started. Here we are coming full circle getting back out to high school sports."

Brennaman ended the announcement with a subtle reference to his 2020 misfortune saying, "by the way I think Castellanos just hit a home run to left."
