A 23-year-old New Richmond man found dead Monday had at least one gunshot wound in the skull, court documents state, and a man he once considered a friend has now been charged with murder. Robert "Bobby" Farrell Jr. was found dead Monday night nearly a week after he was reported missing. The 23-year-old father had been missing since July 6, when he was last seen going for a drive with his best friend, his family said. That friend, identified by authorities as Keyanta Gardner, now faces a murder charge in connection to Farrell's death.According to court documents, the body of Farrell was found Monday in the 2300 block of State Route 222 in Monroe Township, with at least one "apparent gunshot wound to the skull."Prior to the court documents released Wednesday, circumstances surrounding his death remained a mystery.In addition to a murder charge, Gardner also faces charges of tampering with evidence. Documents also show a charge of obstructing official business was filed but dismissed. "This week has been pure torture. The most horrific and agonizing pain I hope no one in the world ever has to go through," Farrell's mother said Tuesday.Family members said Farrell's best friend, Gardner, told them he took Farrell to nearby Dee's Dairy Bar, where Farrell got into a black car with tinted windows.They said Farrell sent text messages that night saying he was with an ex-girlfriend, but she told them he was not.Family members said Gardner spent days helping them search for Farrell in the days following his disappearance."He went out with his friend and that's all we really know. He went out with his friend and never came home," Farrell's aunt, Sandy Coorey, said. The tragedy just keeps getting worse for Farrell's family."It just hard when you watch someone grow up as a baby, and just, and you don't know what's happening," Coorey said.
