Coroner identifies woman killed in four-vehicle crash in West Chester


A 48-year-old woman is dead following a massive crash in West Chester Thursday afternoon. It happened just after 3 p.m. near the intersection of Union Centre Boulevard and Muhlhauser Road. According to West Chester Township spokeswoman Barb Wilson, the crash involved four vehicles, including a large truck.A crash report states that the truck was traveling westbound on Union Centre Boulevard, crossing through the Muhlhauser Road intersection with a green light. While crossing through the intersection, officials say a car attempted to turn left — illegally — from Union Centre onto Muhlhauser. That car and the truck collided, officials said. After being struck by the truck, officials say that car struck two other cars — one occupied and stopped in traffic, and a second unoccupied and parked at a nearby gas station. Two people were taken to area hospitals with injuries. One of those two people, identified Friday as 48-year-old Mariluz Silverio, of West Chester, was later pronounced dead. Wilson said Silverio was a passenger in the second car.The second victim's condition is unknown. The crash remains under investigation.
